We’ve done it again, for the second year running! We were thrilled to accept the Philanthropic Partner of the year award at the KAB Heart of Kent awards 2021. This award is given to a partner who supports KAB not only financially, but through supporting their messaging and providing gifts to support events and initiatives.
SADS IT chose to support the Kent Association for the Blind at the beginning of 2020 when they were about to begin their centenary year, a great time to get involved! The charity was local to our office and a member of our teams’ family access KAB support and services making them the perfect charity for us to support. Who knew what a struggle 2020 and Covid would bring to many charities and businesses. Sadly the KAB had to cancel many fundraising events and 2020 was a tough year. We have continued to support them throughout 2021 and with ‘Iris’ their new mobile sight centre.

Packed with equipment, resources and technology, the vehicle will travel around the county to schools, summer fairs, fundraising events and more. Iris and its staff and volunteers will provide help and advice to existing clients, new clients and the general public. Iris will also raise awareness of the importance of good eye health, including having regular eye tests. We hope that more people will learn about our work, particularly carers, professionals and people who are sight impaired.

The Wi-Fi supplied by SADS for Iris, KAB’s mobile sight centre, was a very generous donation. In addition, the tablet donated as a prize for our Superhero fun run allowed us to secure some significant social media engagement.”
Helen Rowlan & Aaron Moore were very honoured to accept our award from Nicola Wood at KAB head offices in Maidstone. We are so proud of what the charity has achieved during such a difficult time. We look forward to continuing to support them throughout 2022!
