Microsoft new commerce experience
Microsoft new commerce experience
What is the Microsoft new commerce experience? (NCE)
“a consistent, simplified, and flexible purchase experience for customers and Microsoft partners”.
The new commerce experience for seat-based licensing delivers a consistent, simplified, and flexible purchase experience for customers and partners. Previously, the purchase of Microsoft licenses had become complex and confusing as new products continued to emerge, hence the need to simplify the process. As a Microsoft Silver Partner and cloud solutions provider (CSP), SADS IT have the opportunity to build and deliver more managed services through the new simplified purchasing model. Enabling us to continue to help guide our customers through their transformational journey to the cloud.
How will the Microsoft new commerce experience affect organisations?
All licenses purchased from March 2022 onwards will be subject to the new commerce model. Any existing Microsoft licences will move over to the new model at their point of expiry with transitioning due to complete by end of February 2023.
The Microsoft new commerce experience model offers three purchasing models;
- The first is designed for the SME market. Licenses are purchased through the cloud solutions provider (CSP) model. This is where we currently sit, SADS IT is your Cloud solution provider (CSP).
- The second model is designed for large organisations – new ability to purchase licensing direct from a Microsoft account manager.
- The third is designed for Enterprise organisations, giving them the opportunity to purchase their own licences directly through Microsoft.
In simple terms, many licensing fees will increase in line with the Microsoft price increase, this will affect products such as Microsoft 365, Office 365, Dynamics 365, Windows 365 and power platform. If you are a current SADS IT Microsoft customer, you will continue to receive the same level of expertise and customer service.
In conclusion, we advise that you work with a trusted and accredited Microsoft Partner. At SADS IT we are more than happy to discuss any concerns you may have regarding these Microsoft changes or any other licensing queries.
